As an K-12 school-based Special Education Teacher in Charleston, SC, your days will include:
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) aligned with student needs, district guidelines, and state standards.
  • Deliver differentiated instruction using evidence-based practices tailored to each student’s unique strengths and needs.
  • Establish and maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and independence.
  • Assess, track, and report student progress toward IEP goals through ongoing data collection and formative/summative evaluations.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of student progress, service minutes, and compliance requirements.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, service providers, families, and school staff to ensure student access to the general curriculum.
  • Provide accommodations, modifications, and behavioral supports in accordance with IEPs and 504 Plans.
  • Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and multidisciplinary team meetings.
  • Integrate technology to support instruction, communication, and student engagement.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development, staff meetings, and training as required
Job Details:
  • Position: Contracted Special Education Teacher
  • Hours: Full-time, 40 hours (Monday - Friday)
  • Assignment Type: K-12 Academy;1 middle school student and 2 high school students with autism and significant intellectual disabilities.
Successful Candidates Possess:
  • A Bachelors or Master's degree in Special Education (required)
  • Valid state teaching license/certification in Special Education (required)
  • Experience teaching students with disabilities in a classroom or resource setting.
  • Strong understanding of IDEA, IEP development, and progress monitoring.
  • Ability to manage a diverse caseload and collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills.
  • The ability to work in the U.S. Without a sponsor

Drew Anson is Chief Delivery Officer at Phaxis, a Workforce Solutions Company based in New York.

In this role, Drew leads the delivery and recruiting working closely with the leadership team to define a model that is efficient at supporting the firm s current needs and is scalable for future growth.

Drew is a seasoned executive with more than 13 years of Services & Recruitment experience. In that time, he has supported numerous Fortune 100/500/1000 organizations across industries by providing global workforce solutions, namely resources and thought leadership for large-scale projects, implementations, and managed services.

Prior to joining Phaxis predecessor firm Park Hudson in 2021, Drew spent three years at engineering technology and talent solutions firm, Collabera, as Director of Sales in North Carolina. Earlier in his career, he spent nearly eight years at Insight Global, most recently as Sales Manager of the Columbus, OH office.

He holds a degree from Central Michigan University in Sales & Marketing.
