Job Description

Title: ASL Paraprofessional
Location: Algonquin, IL 

No EIPA score is required;however, a district sign language test for basic sign knowledge will be administered during the interview.

As a PreK-5 ASL Paraprofessional in Algonquin, IL your days will include providing direct student care such as: 
  • Basic ASL knowledge required;district test must be passed. 
  • Provide one-on-one or small-group instructional support.
  • Implement behavior intervention strategies as directed.
  • Assist students with personal care or mobility if needed.
  • Support classroom management and reinforce teacher instructions.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of student performance and behavior.
Job Details
  • Position: Contract (option to renew) in a school setting
  • Hours: Full-time (Monday - Friday)
  • Caseload: Elementary
 Qualifications:
  • Basic ASL knowledge and district test passed
  • High school diploma or equivalent;some districts require an Associate’s degree and passing of a Paraprofessional exam.
  • Experience with students with disabilities preferred.
  • Ability to follow IEPs and behavior plan

Drew is a seasoned executive with more than 13 years of Services & Recruitment experience. Prior to joining Phaxis predecessor firm Park Hudson in 2021, Drew spent three years at engineering technology and talent solutions firm, Collabera, as Director of Sales in North Carolina. Earlier in his career, he spent nearly eight years at Insight Global, most recently as Sales Manager of the Columbus, OH office.

He holds a degree from Central Michigan University in Sales & Marketing.
