Title: Certified Orientation & Mobility Specialist (COMS)
Location: Stafford, VA (Virtual & Hybrid Options Available)
Pay Rate: $45 –$55 / hour

As a Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist (COMS) in Stafford, VA, your days will include:

  • Providing individualized O&M instruction for students ranging from Pre-K to post-graduate.

  • Traveling between multiple school sites (itinerant caseload).

  • Collaborating with vision paras, related service providers, teachers, and families.

  • Supporting students in accessing school, home, and community environments safely and independently.

  • Participating in IEP development, progress monitoring, and meetings as required.
Job Details

  • Position: Contract (option to renew) in a school-based setting

  • Hours: 7.5 hours per week (flexible scheduling available)

  • Caseload: Itinerant across multiple sites, TBD

  • Start/End Date: ASAP –May 28, 2026 (likely extended into June for make-up services)

  • Interview Method: Virtual interviews, ASAP
Successful Candidates Possess

  • Active COMS certification (ACVREP required)

  • Experience with school-based or pediatric populations (preferred)

  • The ability to work in the U.S. Without a sponsor
