Job Description

Title: Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
 Location: Montgomery, MN

COTA Job Qualifications:
  • Associate’s degree from an accredited OTA program.
  • Current certification as a COTA 
  • Supervisor Reference Required
  • Previous experience in pediatric or educational settings preferred.
  • Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
Supervision:
Works under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist.
 
COTA Job Details
Position: Contract (option to renew) in a school setting
Hours: Full-time (Monday - Friday)
Caseload: Elementary, Middle, and High School options

 COTA Job Roles and Responsibilities: 
  • Deliver occupational therapy interventions as directed by the supervising OT and outlined in students’IEPs.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of individualized treatment plans.
  • Monitor and document student progress toward therapy goals.
  • Support the use of adaptive tools and strategies to promote student independence.
  • Collaborate with educators and support staff to integrate OT strategies into the classroom routine.
  • Prepare and maintain materials and equipment used in therapy sessions.
  • Ensure documentation and service delivery meet all district, state, and federal guidelines.
