Greater Springfield / Ludlow Area, MA
$50–$60+/hour —Negotiable with experience;higher considered for standout candidates

The Opportunity
Phaxis Education is hiring two SPED teachers to join a compassionate, ABA-aligned program serving PreK–1 students with moderate to severe needs. Class sizes are intentionally small (fewer than 10) with 2: 1 to 1: 1 staffing to deliver highly individualized instruction and support.

You’ll design and deliver IEP-aligned instruction, partner closely with related services and BCBAs, and maintain a structured, nurturing classroom that builds communication, independence, and confidence.
Position Snapshot

  • Start: ASAP

  • Through: End of school year (June 2026 preferred)

  • Schedule: M–F, 35–37.5 hours per week

  • Setting: Substantially separate classrooms, 2: 1–1: 1 supports

  • Population: Students with autism, intellectual disabilities, developmental delays
What you’ll do

  • Provide specialized instruction aligned to IEP goals using ABA principles

  • Collaborate daily with BCBAs, paras, and related service providers

  • Support communication goals, including AAC integration

  • Handle toileting and lifting needs when required

  • Track data and produce clear progress reports
What you’ll bring
Required

  • MA DESE Special Education Teacher License (PreK–8 preferred)

  • Proven experience in sub-separate and/or ABA-based settings

Preferred

  • CPI or Safety Care certification

  • AAC familiarity and behavior plan implementation

Other

  • Not accepting new grads;prior classroom SPED experience required

  • Onsite only (no virtual/hybrid)
