Sign Language Interpreter (ASL)
Up to $53/hr | Full-Time | 2026 2027 School Year | James Island, SC

Make a real impact in a supportive school setting. We're hiring an ASL Interpreter for the 2026 2027 school year in James Island, SC and surrounding schools!
Position Overview
  • Location: James Island, SC schools in the area
  • Dates: August 2026 June 2027
  • Schedule: Full-Time, In-Person | Monday Friday | 40 hours/week
  • Caseload: K-12, multiple school sites
  • Required: EIPA 3.5+ and RID (SC LLR or willingness to obtain)
Responsibilities :
  • Provide real-time American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation for students who are deaf or hard of hearing in classroom and school settings
  • Facilitate communication between students, teachers, staff, and peers to support full access to instruction and activities
  • Interpret a variety of content including academic instruction, discussions, and school events
  • Collaborate with educators and support staff to ensure appropriate accommodations and student success
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional and ethical standards while documenting services as required
