Sign Language Interpreter (SLI), Full-Time School Job
Location: Spanaway, Washington

Phaxis Education is seeking a qualified Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) for a school-based position in Spanaway, WA.
We are looking for interpreters with strong communication skills, a passion for student success, and an EIPA score of 4.0 or higher.

Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) Position Highlights:
  • Job Type: 1: 1 Interpreting
  • Schedule: Full-time preferred (Monday–Friday);part-time may be considered
  • Caseload: Elementary, middle, or high school based on fit and experience
  • Location: Onsite in Spanaway, Washington
Sign Language Interpreter Job Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate effective communication between deaf or hard-of-hearing students and school staff
  • Interpret classroom instruction, peer discussions, and school-related communication in real-time
  • Ensure student access to curriculum, assignments, and extracurricular activities
  • Collaborate with special education teams, teachers, and support staff to promote student success
  • Support student participation in both academic and social settings
  • Follow state, federal, and district regulations for interpreting services in education
Sign Language Interpreter Job Requirements:
  • EIPA score of 4.0 or higher (required)
  • Previous experience as a school-based interpreter or in a pediatric setting is preferred but not required
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. (sponsorship not available)
  • Strong professionalism, adaptability, and commitment to student support
