Location: Brookline, Massachusetts
Pay Rate: Up to $50+ / hour

As a school-based Reading Specialist in Brookline, Massachusetts,
your days will include

  • Providing individual and small group reading instruction for students ages 13–22 with autism, intellectual and health disabilities, and mental health diagnoses

  • Supporting students using both push-in and pull-out service models

  • Teaching key reading components including phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension

  • Administering assessments and completing academic testing as part of extended or 3-year evaluations

  • Creating and monitoring IEP goals, participating in IEP meetings, and maintaining accurate data collection and reporting

  • Collaborating closely with teachers, clinicians, and related service providers to support whole-child development

  • Leading elective blocks in reading, writing, or other areas of interest

  • Applying tools such as Wilson, Orton-Gillingham, Lindamood-Bell, Read Naturally, and assistive technology to support instruction

Job Details
Position: Contract –Full 2025–2026 Academic Year in a school setting
Dates: August 2025 –June/July 2026
Hours: Full-time (37.5–40 hours/week, Monday –Friday)
Caseload: Students ages 13–22 with diverse academic, cognitive, and behavioral profiles

Successful Candidates Possess

  • A Bachelor’s degree (required);Master’s in Reading and/or Special Education (preferred)

  • Reading certification and/or teaching certification (preferred)

  • Experience with students with complex learning and social/emotional needs

  • Familiarity with Wilson, Orton Gillingham, Lindamood-Bell, Read Naturally, and assistive technology tools

  • A student-centered approach, strong rapport-building skills, and team collaboration mindset

  • A valid driver’s license (preferred but not required)

  • Willingness to complete background, drug, and alcohol screenings

  • CPR, First Aid, and CPI training (can be completed upon hire)

Drew Anson is Chief Delivery Officer at Phaxis, a Workforce Solutions Company based in New York.

Drew is a seasoned executive with more than 13 years of Services & Recruitment experience. In that time, he has supported numerous Fortune 100/500/1000 organizations across industries by providing global workforce solutions, namely resources and thought leadership for large-scale projects, implementations, and managed services.

Prior to joining Phaxis predecessor firm Park Hudson in 2021, Drew spent three years at engineering technology and talent solutions firm, Collabera, as Director of Sales in North Carolina. Earlier in his career, he spent nearly eight years at Insight Global, most recently as Sales Manager of the Columbus, OH office.

He holds a degree from Central Michigan University in Sales & Marketing.
