School Nurse –1: 1 & Main Roles (2025–2026 School Year)
Location: Ashburn, VA
Pay Rate: $30–$40+ per hour
Schedule: Part-Time or Full-Time (flexible to district needs)
Position Overview
At Phaxis, we recognize that health and well-being are critical foundations for student learning and safety. We’re seeking dedicated Registered Nurses to fill both 1: 1 Nursing assignments and Main/School Nurse roles in Ashburn-area schools for the 2025–2026 school year. Whether you thrive in one-on-one care or overseeing a school’s entire health program, join us to support students’physical, emotional, and developmental needs.
Key Responsibilities 1: 1 Nurse

  • Provide individualized health care and medication administration to a single student with complex medical needs

  • Monitor vital signs, manage feeding tubes, tracheostomies, or seizure protocols as outlined in the student’s IHP (Individualized Healthcare Plan)

  • Maintain clear communication with family, teachers, and healthcare providers to ensure continuity of care

  • Document daily interventions, health changes, and emergency response actions in compliance with district and state guidelines
Main/School Nurse

  • Oversee daily health office operations for the school, including triage of student illnesses and injuries

  • Administer medications, CPR, first aid, and emergency nursing care according to standardized protocols

  • Conduct health screenings (vision, hearing, scoliosis) and coordinate health education for students and staff

  • Develop and implement school-wide health policies, manage health records, and lead IHP/504 planning meetings

  • Serve as a liaison with local health departments, families, and community providers to coordinate immunizations and follow-up care
Position Details

  • Type: Contract roles within public or private school settings

  • Start Date: August 2025 (interviews underway—secure your preferred assignment!)

  • Hours: Flexible—choose part-time or full-time consistent with school bell schedules and caseload requirements

  • Roles Available:

    • Dedicated 1: 1 Nursing for medically fragile students

    • Main/School Nurse overseeing health services for K–12 populations
What You Bring

  • Current Virginia RN or LPN license (required)

  • Pediatric or school-based nursing experience (preferred)

  • Strong clinical assessment skills and ability to follow physician orders and IHPs

  • Excellent communication, documentation, and crisis-management abilities

  • Authorization to work in the U.S. Without sponsorship
